# Getting started

> Buy a code, redeem it for a key, install Node.js, pick a tool

<Steps>
  <Step title="Buy a CDK code">
    Codes look like `TSL-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX` and are sold per package:

    | Package | Model | Sold in |
    | - | - | - |
    | **GPT** | `gpt-5.6-sol` | Credits (10M, 20M, 50M, 100M, 200M, 500M, 1B) |
    | **GPT Astra** | `gpt-astra` | Tokens (5M, 10M, 20M, 50M, 100M, 200M, 500M, 1B) |
    | **Claude** | `claude-opus-5`, `claude-fable-5-1`, `claude-sonnet-5`, `claude-haiku-4-5`… | Credits (10M, 20M, 50M, 100M, 200M, 300M, 500M, 1B) |

    Every package has a **validity period counted from the moment you redeem** (printed on the product, e.g. 1 day, 2 days, 5 days). When it expires or the quota is used up the key stops; unused quota does not carry over to a new key.

    Announcements and support: [t.me/teamsoclo](https://t.me/teamsoclo).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Redeem the code for an API key">
    Open **[redeem.teamsoclo.site](https://redeem.teamsoclo.site)**, paste the code, redeem. You get an `sk-...` key plus instructions for your package.

    <Warning>
      Copy the key with the **Copy** button, not by selecting text. Keys are long and it is easy to miss a character at either end; that shows up later as `401 Unauthorized`, not as "you copied it wrong".
    </Warning>

    Lost the key? Redeem the same code again and the page shows the same key. Remaining quota and expiry: [gpt.teamsoclo.site/check](https://gpt.teamsoclo.site/check).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install Node.js (only for Codex CLI)">
    Codex CLI installs through `npm`, so you need **Node.js 18 or newer**. Check:

    ```bash theme={null}
    node --version
    ```

    If missing, install for your OS:

    <Tabs>
      <Tab title="macOS">
        ```bash theme={null}
        brew install node
        ```

        Or download the installer from [nodejs.org](https://nodejs.org).
      </Tab>

      <Tab title="Linux">
        ```bash theme={null}
        curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nvm-sh/nvm/v0.40.3/install.sh | bash
        nvm install --lts
        ```

        nvm avoids `EACCES` permission errors with global packages.
      </Tab>

      <Tab title="Windows">
        ```powershell theme={null}
        winget install OpenJS.NodeJS.LTS
        ```

        Or download the installer from [nodejs.org](https://nodejs.org).
      </Tab>
    </Tabs>

    Cursor, Cline and Chatbox do not need Node.js.
  </Step>

## How quota is counted

Keys are charged by **tokens actually used** (input + output), exactly the `usage` the API returns for each request. No hidden fees, no injected tokens.

* **GPT** package: 10M credits = 10M `gpt-5.6-sol` tokens.
* **GPT Astra** package: 10M = 10M `gpt-astra` tokens. An Astra key can only call `gpt-astra`; a GPT key can only call `gpt-5.6-sol`.
* **Claude** package: credits are charged per model, Opus 5 ≈ 1 credit/token, Fable ≈ 2, Sonnet/Haiku cheaper. A Claude key can only call `claude-*` models.

<Tip>
  The single most effective saving: **start a new conversation when you change topic**. Every turn resends the whole history; message 51 of a long chat costs many times more than message 1. In Cursor and Cline, point the agent at the exact files instead of letting it scan the repo.
